Aging network.
Planned replacement.

Network Infrastructure
Upgrade for
Columbus Offices.

Slow WiFi, a firewall nobody has logged into in years, switches that drop when the closet gets warm. A planned refresh replaces what is failing, on a schedule that does not stop your office.

Signs your office network is due for an upgrade

  • WiFi is fine at the front desk and useless in the back rooms.
  • Calls break up or video meetings freeze when the office is busy.
  • Your firewall or switches are past the manufacturer’s end-of-support date and no longer get security updates.
  • Nobody has the admin passwords, or they belong to someone who left.
  • The network closet is a tangle of unlabeled cables, and one wrong pull takes people offline.
  • You’ve added staff, printers or other devices and the network was never resized for them.
  • Your cyber-insurance application is asking about firewall and network controls you can’t answer.

One of these is a nuisance. Three or more usually means the network needs to be replaced, not patched.

What a network refresh includes

“Network refresh” is the IT term for replacing aging network equipment on purpose, before it fails. For an office, that usually means:

Firewall

replaced and configured with current security settings, remote access set up properly, and the admin credentials handed to you.

Switches

sized for the devices you have now plus room to grow, with power for phones and access points.

WiFi

access points placed from your actual floor plan, with separate guest and staff networks.

Cabling where it’s needed

new drops for dead spots and moved desks, and a cleaned-up, labeled closet.

Documentation

a diagram, a device list and the passwords, so the next person who touches it isn’t guessing.

Office network installation without downtime

Most of the work happens before cutover: new equipment is configured and tested ahead of time, so the switch-over itself is short. Cutovers are scheduled for evenings or weekends. Your team leaves on the old network and comes back on the new one.

Start with a free network assessment

The assessment is where every upgrade starts. You get a plain-language summary of what’s in your closet, what’s at risk and what we’d change first. You’re under no obligation to use us for the work.

Every assessment and project is run by Jalen May, a network and systems engineer. You deal with one person from the first walk-through to the handoff.

Upgrading because you’re moving?

A move is the cheapest time to replace network equipment: the closet is being built anyway. See office IT relocation services.
