We are building new — what should the IT room include?

Dedicated circuits, adequate cooling sized to planned equipment load, enough physical space to work behind the rack, and cable pathway to the rest of the building. These cost very little during construction and are expensive to add later.

How much space does a rack need?

More than people allocate. You need clearance in front and behind for service access and airflow, which is why closets sized to the rack itself become unworkable.

Can you handle a facility move?

Yes, with a documented plan — labeled everything, sequenced shutdown and startup, and verification at the new site before the old one goes dark.
